the birth of my blog!

Roughly 17 hours ago, I tweeted out: “howwwww crazy would it be if i started a blog”, and here we are! Quite frankly, the inspiration for finally getting my act together and actually following through with the creation of a website/blog was seeing a TikTok post of Lorde’s old Tumblr circa the 2010’s, specifically a post she made when she turned 20. Run-on sentence aside, I also just finished watching all six seasons of Sex and the City and decided I wanted to look as cool as Carrie Bradshaw writing column entries on a MacBook.

With that being said, this is my first and last public service announcement that I am in no way, shape, or form a professional writer. While yes, I am quite the grammar police when it comes to using the wrong “there, they’re, and their” and “too & to”, I am also a hypocrite because I will probably make a million grammar mistakes given that I am my own editor. So no I am not perfect, but neither will this blog be, I’m simply just a girl and this is my craft!

Going back to the inspiration of why I created this blog and website, I truly felt something shift in me after reading Lorde’s Tumblr post. I resonated with the words she had written given the fact that she wrote them at the age I am right now, and about to turn 20 in November. As silly as the backstory sounds, I somewhat enjoy the fact that it’s a little bit weird and super niche within my interests, as that’s exactly what I envision this blog to be.

I have my amazing & supportive friends to thank for the replies to my Tweet, and if you’re reading this right now, I hope you know how much I cherish you! The smile on my face as I write this first post is testament to how happy I am with my decision to follow through with this, and I really do wish this will manifest itself into something bigger than myself. For now, I’ll keep on writing silly little entries of my life, dreams, and accomplishments for the entire world to see.
